Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer. May they help you make the most of this moment. Should you want to see what the current planetary movements are catalyzing for you—what your here/now and near future may be inspiring—based upon your personal astrology chart, we can explore that in a Stellar Guidance Session.
Also, if you’d like further insights into the month of September, I’d like to offer you two resources: my September Wellness Horoscope column on Well + Good and the latest episode of the So Divine! podcast, which I co-host with astrologer Megan Skinner (you can also access So Divine! on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever else you stream your podcasts).
Things may feel activated and liminal at the same time this week. There’s a sense that we are slowly traveling across a chasm, from our past and present into a yet undefined future.
We begin the week with Venus now direct, having just ended the six-week retrograde cycle it currently undertook. And with that, we may begin to feel that a review we took of our relationship dynamics, orientation towards money, and permission to experience pleasure as we define it is beginning to bear fruit. This may contribute to us experiencing a growing confidence in the clarity we’ve accessed. Yet, while we may feel as if we want to move forward in alignment with what we’ve realized, it still seems important to do so in an unhurried pace; after all, as Venus is moving quite slowly for the first few days of the week, so should we.
This may not seem as easy as it sounds. After all, on Monday, expansive Jupiter makes a directional shift—beginning the retrograde phase it will undergo until December 30. The days before/after it changes its orientation, Jupiter’s expression seems intensified. We’re pulled to what we perceive is bigger and better, that which we consider gives us more, has exceptional promise, and offers us an expansive playground upon which to grow and explore. Yet, the urge for fast and furious may end up being counterproductive to the deliberate reflection we may want to undertake the first few days of the week, until Venus picks up some speed.
That’s not to say we should avert our attention to the invitations that stationing Jupiter offers. It still does feel like a moment in which envisioning what a life filled with the practical promise of growth and freedom looks like may serve us well. This feels notably true given that both messenger Mercury and the claim-your-radiance Sun are making harmonious trines to Jupiter this week. It’s just that any quick-clipped movement may end up being counterproductive to our short- and long-term aims.
Another reason for not currently having precise certitude, notably when it comes to communicating what we discern is the most productive and efficient plan forward, is that Mercury is still in its own retrograde cycle, which will end on September 15. While Mercury is still retrograde it a powerful time to reconsider the facts and re-assess how to best share what you perceive with others (while also allowing yourself the leisure to further discern the nuances of just what you understand to be true).
Consider your current understanding to be a work in progress. That said, be open notably to what arises in your mind’s eye on September 6, the day of the Mercury cazimi (cazimi is a term that reflects the conjunction of a planet with the Sun). As I note in my Well + Good article on the topic…
On the day of the Mercury cazimi, notice how your mind may feel brighter and your communication more coherent. Mercury is the planet of information and travel, and all things in these realms are dialed up by the Sun's proximity. Conversations can become portals for dynamic learning and help us connect with others who are interested in subjects we hold near and dear. (For more on cazimis, read the whole article.)
Wishing you a wonderful week!
xxStephanie
