Hello! This week I’m going to keep things semi-short and sweet. Not just because we're in the thick of Virgo Season - a time to be efficient, precise, and systematic - but also because my laptop is broken* and I am needing to post this via my phone.
For the last month-plus, it seems as if it's been challenging to gain traction and create progress. After all, Venus was retrograde from July 22 through September 3, offering us a six-week period in which we needed to look back to re-evaluate what we truly value. And then, Mercury entered its three-times-yearly retrograde cycle on August 27 and with that we may have found ourselves needing to go really slowly and be in review mode when it comes to the ways we access information and share our thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
This week, we may experience a turning of the tides. On Thursday, as the Virgo New Moon arrives, our attention shifts from endings to beginnings. The energetic field should feel more infused with a sense of nascency and promise.
And then the very next day, Mercury shifts back into direct motion. And while the communication planet may take several days to pick up speed, it's about-face and forward directionality should have us feel like we're about to take the deeply etched insights we've gained over the last two months and use them to forge a path forward. What precision can offer, how we can creatively craft solutions, and the ways in which we can be of service to ourselves and others should come more clearly into view.
Here's to new beginnings!
xxStephanie
* It seems a bit trite that my laptop actually broke during Mercury Retrograde, but alas! I had to laugh that even after they got it back up and running at the Apple store, that this morning it didn't turn on again.
Yet, this experience does have the makings of the deeper levels of Mercury Retrograde within it which go beyond the presumption that communication - and communication devices - break down and that in doing so only bring problems and setbacks.
Mercury Retrograde often shows us that there are many ways to get from point A to point B, notably when it comes to delivery of insights and information. For example, I could have thrown up my hands in frustration and not written this post or felt completely stymied by not being able to do any of my other laptop-centric work. But then I realized that I had other tools - notably my phone - to help me get the job done (until I either fix my laptop or get a new one).
It's helpful to remember that the roadblocks that we experience during Mercury Retrograde can often help us see that there may be other paths and/or approaches we can undertake to complete our mission. This can impart a sense of freedom, that we are not wed to our go-to’s, but instead we can discover a stance of adaptability and resilience that allows us to still share ourselves with others (sometimes in ways that energize or delight us).
