Neptune.
Neptune, the planet of dissolving boundaries, is quite prominent right now.
Since early Wednesday of last week, it has been stationing, occupying the same exact zodiacal spot, in anticipation of it shifting retrograde this Tuesday. And even when it does, it will still stay in this precise spot—25 degrees 26 minutes of Pisces—through July 4. When a planet stations and appears from our vantage point to be standing still it seems to have galvanized influence, with what it represents archetypally thought to be quite palpable in the collective consciousness and unconsciousness.
Neptune is the planet that reminds us that things are not as separate as they appear on the surface, that they are connected and arise from the same source. From this angle, we can readily then see why it is the planet associated with empathy, compassion, mysticism, dreams, healing, psychic perception, and relationship with the muse, all of which may feel even more accessible over the coming weeks.
The sea, which the eponymous Roman god ruled, is an aligned image for Neptune. While it contains drops of water, where one begins and another ends cannot be discerned. Everything is blended, merged, interconnected. There’s an uncontained energy to Neptune, one where we may find ourselves swimming (or sinking) in a vast sea of emotions, including sorrow, grief, joy, love, rage, and/or fear to name a few. And as much as we may try, there may be times when we can’t seem to contain the feelings. We may feel caught in their eddy, pulled in by their undertow, and/or flooded by their presence.
Consider this as you navigate the week. Let yourself tune into what you are feeling. Do so while also remembering that it’s ok to have boundaries, notably as they can help you fortify your resilience so that you can maintain a sense of center that will allow you to be more fiercely channel your compassion and empathy. Attune yourself to your intuition, listen in for wisdom through your dreams, and take refuge in the inspiration that art brings.
As the Moon is in its balsamic phase Monday and Tuesday, those days may feel more willowy than the rest of the week. Once the New Moon arrives late in the evening on Tuesday and the Moon begins to capture more light and there’s a sense of a new beginning, we may find ourselves a bit more clear as to how to move forward with all we are feeling.
Know that while the Neptune station may cast a background note on the week that diffusion isn’t the only keynote we may feel. This is particularly true given that Friday features a tense square between Mars in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn.
We may witness and/or experience an unleashing of pent-up energy or frustration. If we feel that our aims/efforts have been thwarted, or that our control has been usurped, or that we are being stripped of our power, the tendency with Mars/Pluto is *not* to turn and look away. Rather the pull is to act from the depth of one’s convictions and fight for one’s desires with force and endurance. As explosive as this may be, if we are conscious of our motivations and intelligent in our strategies, we can dig into the depth of our will and focus on actively transforming situations, both within our minds/hearts and in the world around us. And yet, if we’re acting upon an impulse that is not clear and for which we are not ready to take responsibility, we may sense a volcanic storm is passing by that arbitrarily upends many things in its path.
It’s not that we shouldn’t connect to a river of rage or a pool of passion if that’s what we’re feeling. It’s likely impossible anyway, as given the strong Neptunian background of the week, we may find ourselves connected to the stream of our feelings at many turns. It just feels important that we bring as much of our feelings to the light of our mind and heart so that we can have clear aim and direction. The awareness that comes from knowing why we want to champion what we do can work hand in hand with the compassion and quest for healing that this week offers us.
Be well,
xxStephanie
