Last week when I was in Milan, I tried my very first shakerato. From that moment on, I was hooked, subsequently having (at least) one each day.
What’s a shakerato? It’s a frothy cold espresso drink made by vigorously mixing espresso and ice cubes together in a cocktail shaker, and then straining it into a glass. I loved it not only because it was deliciously refreshing (a caffeine-fix custom made for the week’s almost 100-degree weather). I think I also had so much affinity for it because between its name and preparation style it seemed so resonant of the energies of the moment: the upcoming, quite rare* triple conjunction of Mars, Uranus, and the North Node.
That’s because when Uranus plays a starring role on the celestial slate (as it does right now), it signals a time when the unexpected is to be expected, detours are an activity du jour, and the need to pivot may feel pressing. Combined with Mars, this can impact not only the style of our movement, what it is that bolts us into action, and how we express our desires but also our experiences expressing anger.
When we add the North Node to the equation, we’ve got a cosmic cocktail that not only impacts us in the present, but may also give us glimpses into the future. So if you experience things that are unusual or find yourself having Aha! moments more often than usual, consider that what they are bringing to light isn’t just something isolated to the moment but a treasure that can serve as your North Star, pointing you towards the path that illuminates how to discover more freedom of movement in your life.
Yet, that’s not the only big event on the astrological agenda this week. On Thursday, we have a New Moon, featuring the Sun and Moon in self-expressive Leo. Themes of royalty may reflect our need to maintain our own personal dignity. Invoke the child-like spirit within you, dedicating yourself to committing to at least one area of your life in which you can infuse more fun, frolic, and play. Bloom, blossom, and burst forth—be like an awakened sunflower glistening with luminosity and regality, exciting a sense of hopeful potential in those who witness you.
The backdrop for the whole week is colored by the Jupiter station as also on Thursday, this planet shifts retrograde. And with that, a heightened sense of possibility, a need to experience more, and push to move beyond our current knowledge base appear to be the way to orient. Consider how you can expand your life beyond its current limits. What would it look life if you could perceive more, if you could have experiences that expose you to wider vistas and more potentiated horizons? How that would gift you with a greater sense of wisdom and wholeness? And to do so, what resources would you turn to and what realms would you want to explore?
Weaving this together with the other significant movements this week, see how this quest for having a wider world not only will allow you to more fully express yourself in a heart-felt way but will point you towards the breakthroughs necessary so that you can feel more liberated to do so. And with that, witness how your power and your delight can arise when you are a change agent and the creator of your own shakerato.
Be well,
xxStephanie

* Uranus and the North Node will conjoin on July 31 and Mars will conjoin with both on August 1. It feels important to note the reason that this alignment is really unique, and why it seems which is why this is likely not the first—nor the last—time you may hear people speaking of it. The reason being is that while Mars and Uranus come together approximately every two years, they do so much less frequently with the North Node. The last time it occurred—and yet not even as close as they do now—was back in April 2007.
