Experiment.
No matter which dictionary you turn to for a definition—whether Merriam-Webster (“try out a new procedure, idea, or activity”) or Cambridge (“to try something in order to discover what it is like or find out more about it”) or Collins (“try out a new idea or method to do what is it like and what effects it has”)—there is a common theme that weaves throughout the proposed meaning of the verb experiment.
To try.
This week’s astrology—featuring innovative Uranus squaring both the Sun and the Full Moon—invites us to experiment. To try.
For example, we could:
Try on a new approach.
Try on a new idea.
Try on a new style.
Try on a new perspective.
Try on a new activity.
Try on a new way of expressing ourselves.
Try on a new artform.
Try on a new way of being generous.
Try on a new definition of what it means to be creative.
And even if change is not your bff, remember that trying something on doesn’t mean that you’re committing to it forever.
You’re sampling it. You’re seeing what it’s like. You’re having a brief encounter with it.
And in that, you’re getting to invite a new experience or orientation into your life and see what it brings you, how it makes you feel, what it opens up for you. From there you have the freedom: to take what you’ve received, or to leave it. And whether or not it’s something you take on with you as you move forward in life, you are also left with the gift that you had the courage to step out of rote, to shake up your routine.
As you experiment, as you try on the new, allow yourself to be surprised by what arises and how it touches you. Let it open up new connections, perceptions of patterns, and discovery of your creative potential. Take detours, watch for opportunities to pivot, and stay bouncy.
All the while, remember that during a Uranus-inspired week like this one, that with others hearing the clarion call to experiment, we may find ourselves presented with invitations to shift because of the movements that they are initiating. We may find ourselves surprised not only by ourselves but also by others.
Let the Full Moon shine over you. Allow it to bring you illumination as to how living from your heart not only galvanizes your spirit but is elemental to radiating who you are in honor of the collective, feeling a sense of reward that comes through connecting to community and advancing the visions and values that humanity shares.
Finally, I did want to call out another alignment occurring this week, that being the Venus/Mars Square on Saturday. With that, it feels important to be really conscious about what you love and what you desire, and to be aware of any competing demands that they make upon you. Be attuned to any tension that is presenting itself and see if you can slowly discover ways to find harmony rather than remain in cacophony.
With Venus being in dreamy Pisces, we may find ourselves rewarded by being in a state of flow, being quiet, and having ourselves feel our way through an experience, while with Mars in communicative Gemini, we may also find ourselves with an urge to actively gather information and intellectualize what we are experiencing. See how you can bring these invitations together. Examples of which could include: being curious about your dreams, researching subjects related to art or healing, and/or inviting a friend or sibling to share a reflective and feeling-attuned experience with you.
I hope your week is bright and filled with the beautiful jewels that accompany experimenting.
xxStephanie
