Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer us collectively. May they help you make the most of this moment. Should you want to see what the current planetary movements are catalyzing for you—what your here/now and near future may be inspiring—based upon your personal astrology chart, we can explore that in a Stellar Guidance Session.
As the week begins, we may find ourselves with the urge to dive more deeply into a subject. Just accepting what someone tells us may not seem in alignment with our thirst for knowledge. As such, we’re infused with a desire to plumb below the surface and excavate more nuanced levels of insights, those that aren’t initially offered. Getting to the bottom of things feels like a top-line priority.
With the Sun making a square to shake-it-up Uranus, coloring outside of the lines and being inventive may seem de rigueur. This may arise from a sense that experimentation feels good, giving us freedom from the listlessness and dissatisfaction that’s resulted from being in “same old same old” mode time and again. It may also be that expressing ourselves in a different fashion not only feels satisfying but is also the more efficient way to untangle a challenge or move through an obstacle.
The next day, on February 9, we have the Aquarius New Moon, which inspires us to turn our attention to the future, perceive patterns, as well as see a bigger picture. And as we do, we further appreciate how individuals are woven together into a larger fabric, appreciating that in a system, the parts influence the whole and the whole has impact upon the parts. To further note what this lunation may inspire, I thought include the Aquarius New Moon affirmations that I feature in my book The Astrological Self-Care Journal:
I am a citizen of the world.
Collectives have power.
I sense subtle energies.
I can help make a difference.
Remember that beginning about three and one-half days before every New Moon, we enter the Balsamic Moon phase. It’s a time when the Moon is dark and getting darker. To discover the light, we can turn within, exploring the wisdom that lives within the reservoirs of our mind, heart, and soul. It’s a beautiful time to invite in more quietude and sanctuary. Instead of starting big new endeavors (which is better aligned for the waxing lunar phase that runs from New to Full Moon), see what you can release, making space for a wave of nascent inspirations to soon arrive.
Have a lovely week!
xxStephanie

Sharing the Aquarius Love: Gratitude for an Astrologer Colleague
Do you read astrologer Frederick Woodruff’s Substack, Woodruff? If not, I’d highly encourage you to check it out. His writing is incisive, his wisdom vast, and his vision integral.
I’m now thinking of Frederick because in his recent February Horoscopes for Moderns post he shared about my new Astrology-Informed Family Constellations Sessions (thank you, Frederick!). And I loved how he discussed it in the context of Pluto’s current movement through Aquarius. As he noted:
In keeping with this post’s theme, considering one’s family matrix instead of just the individual’s horoscope is very much a Pluto-Aquarius merger. To survey how the whole influences the part is an exciting approach towards self-knowledge.
I agree. As it allows us to see life through a systemic perspective—honoring how individuals are influenced by the network to which they belong, and a group is informed by the individuals of which it is composed—Family Constellations is a method that is very Aquarian in nature. (And as I overlay it with astrology, another field aligned with the sign of the water bearer, to me it takes on even more Aquarian vibes.) It’s such a powerful well-being approach as it helps us access more freedom to be ourselves, release intergenerational traumas, and re-establish a flow of love within ourselves and our families.
