The Virgo New Moon Invites Us to Appreciate the Details
An Autumn AstroSalon FAQ
Before I share insights for this week, I want to reflect upon a question that a few people have recently asked me about my Autumn AstroSalons: regarding the difference between its scope and that of this weekly Substack newsletter. Following is an FAQ I created about it. (For more on the Autumn AstroSalon—including the discounted rate through September 3—see this page or write me with any questions you have.
Will the information and insights shared in the AstroSalons be different than your weekly newsletters?
Definitely! Here are some of the differences.
In each of the three AstroSalons, we will survey the archetypes of each of the signs that are highlighted during the month (Libra in the September gathering; Scorpio in the October gathering; and Sagittarius in the November gathering.) You will learn more about the different facets of these signs including what it means for you (or someone you know) if one of your planets or personal points resides there. This is something that I don’t regularly cover in my newsletters nor do so in any depth.
Plus, our exploration of the month’s astrology will provide you with a more expansive view as well as weave together numerous factors to identify dates and periods that are more aligned for action, review and/or pause. Additionally, I will share more concentrated self-care suggestions as well as bespoke-for-the-moment Stellar Reflection Questions throughout the AstroSalons series. And, you’ll be able to ask questions, something that is not currently offered via my Substack newsletter.
OK, now on to this week’s astrological insights…
If possible, see if you can build in some spaciousness early this week. This way you won’t have to rush about and will also have the flexibility to re-arrange things should the desire (or need) arise. I say this for several reasons.
One is that we’re still in the throes of the station of shake-it-up Uranus. And given that this planet—known for its connection to the eclectic and the electric—makes a square with messenger Mercury later this week, we may find ourselves accessing news and information that we didn’t anticipate. By staying bouncy, and having an adaptive stance, we’re then able to accommodate conversations that we hadn’t realized we needed to have in a way that is more relaxed and mindful.
The second is the square between let’s-go Mars and blurred-edges Neptune. This may have us apt to act upon flashes of intuition rather than just left-brained logic; therefore, leaving room to pivot based upon perceiving how to more readily go with the flow may tap us into ease and joy.
A sense of spaciousness can also help us to access insights related to what we want to bring to light this month as we attune to Monday’s New Moon in Virgo. As I shared in my book The Complete Guide to Astrological Self-Care, this lunation provides us with numerous opportunities including acquiring a greater appreciation for the details, finding ways to be of service to others, and initiating a new healthy habit. All the while we should watch out for certain challenges including penchants for perfection that cause heightened criticality, propensities for taking responsibility for things that actually aren’t under our purview, and the excess worry and anxiousness that can occur when things appear out of order.
Spaciousness will help us move at a slower pace as well, something that may be important as we move towards the weekend and the Sun/Saturn Opposition that occurs then. While moving quickly may seem productive in the short term, it could weaken long-term foundations and have consequences down the road we would have rather avoided. A reverence for rules and an acknowledgement of trusted authorities could work in our favor.
Saturn inspires us with the notion that time is an important ingredient in any recipe, that responsibly is key to owning our authority and the command to authoring our life, that sometimes hard knocks can be invaluable teachers, and that alignment is an essential building block to architecting structures of lasting foundation. With the planet of karma opposing the radiant Sun, we may reflect upon these concepts.
Additionally, with Saturn being the planet of reap-what-you-sow, if we’ve skipped steps in the past, we may find ourselves greeting some repercussions. If this is the case, honor Saturn by taking the mantle of accountability, attending to doing what’s necessary. If at the moment it feels limiting, just know that important foundational lessons are being seeded that can help bring you more sustainable growth in the future. In addition, it’s a time when we may look to the past and see how endurance, commitment, loyalty, and our ability to “do the work” has shaped us into who we are, forging our strength and capacity.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
xxStephanie
