The Scorpio New Moon and Mars/Pluto Opposition Blankets Us with Intensity
Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer us collectively. If you’re looking to access personalized astrological and self-care insights to help you navigate the now, I’d love to do a Stellar Guidance Session or a Stellar Constellations Session with you.
As we approach the mid-week Mercury/Uranus Opposition, watch for new ideas to appear and innovative solutions to emerge. If you’ve been struggling with getting your message across, shake it up, trying an approach that’s fresh and new. It may forge a channel that gives you the freedom to better communicate what’s important.
Surprising your audience with communication that’s innovative may awaken their interest and attention. Additionally, be aware that you may be on the receiving end of streams of information that seems erratic and unexpected; this may be related to the personal conversations you have and/or may show up through the frenzy of the collective news cycle this week.
As the new month begins, so does a new lunar cycle, with November 1 featuring a Scorpio New Moon. Even if we wanted to stay in our intellect, we may not be able to avoid a call to feel our way through the present moment. On the surface that may seem scary: after all, it’s not for nothing that many people’s default is to take refuge in the watchtowers of their minds. Yet, remember that not only are our emotions a key to putting the “human” in humanity, but that they can also help us decipher what feels right or wrong, safe or scary, kind or inconsiderate, life-affirming or deleterious—and in doing so, help us to feel more empowered as an agent of our lives and the lives of those we care about.
Yet, it’s not only the Scorpio New Moon that gives the beginning of the month a cloak of intensity. On November 3, we also have an exact opposition between Scorpio’s two planetary rulers: Mars and Pluto. Diving into the depths of what we desire and taking steps to bring it to manifestation may be quite transformative at this moment. Being honest with ourselves about what motivates us, and harnessing our storehouse of will to pursue our aims, feels like a power to which we are given greater access.
That said, it may feel quite intense. It’s a moment of secrets, and doing everything in one’s power to shroud them as well as everything in one’s power to uncover them. We may find ourselves connecting to the depth of an existential crisis, feeling like the survival of something precious to us is on the line. This may then motivate the warrior within us to go onto the “battlefield” and fight for what we feel is core to our connection to life.
Looking at things straight on rather than averting our attention may be a winning strategy. This may feel especially true as/if we realize that the latter option is what has gotten us to where we are in the moment.
Given that Mars is in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn, the polarization of the matriarchy and patriarchy may be on full display. As we witness the extremity of this rivalry, we may also glimpse into not only its futility but its absurdity: cellular memories of the divine relationship between the archetypal mother and father coming forth may have us cry out for the return of the hallowed alliance of feminine and masculine.
This deep dive is not a one-and-done for the near future. That’s because owing to Mars’ upcoming retrograde cycle (December 6, 2024 – February 23, 2025), it will oppose Pluto two other times in the coming months, on January 3 and April 29 of next year.
Now, it may seem like I’m writing about the first week of the month and just reading the temperature of the collective climate based upon the tension and intensity we all know is pervading our psyches, conversations, and news gathering. Yet, the astrology does underscore it while also doing something more.
It gives us a way to perceive the threads that are appearing and weaving through the moment. It offers us a language to decipher and discern the “what’s what” that we are connecting to. And in that, we may not only have access to a more holistic understanding—of ourselves, of others, of the pivotal collective moment—but also how to orient and meet/greet and approach the here/now.
This is one of the many things that I adore about astrology. To me, it’s not a cause and effect generator; for example, isn’t not because of the Scorpio New Moon and the Mars/Pluto Opposition and all of the other alignments that are and have been happening that we feel and experience what we do/will. What it offers is a guidebook: so that we can access understanding and awareness, so that we can navigate the now with greater empowerment, clarity, kindness, self-compassion, and love.
Wishing you all my very best,
Stephanie

For those of you who live in the Seattle area, I wanted to let you know that I will be there beginning later this week and will be doing in-person sessions at my West Seattle home.
And so, if you’re feeling called to do an astrology guidance session or a family constellation session in the coming weeks, I would love to meet with you.
Here is a link to my November calendar for astrology guidance sessions and a link for my family constellation sessions. That said, if you would like to schedule a session but none of the days/times work for you, please write me with alternates as there may be a possibility for me to rearrange my schedule to accommodate your needs. And, if you’d like to do a session, but meeting in person doesn’t work well for you, we can always do the session via Zoom.
