Some Plutonian Inspirations I Learned from Cheryl Strayed...
Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer us collectively. If you’re looking to access personalized insights to help you navigate the now, I’d love to do a Stellar Guidance Session with you. Click on the button below to schedule a session (and know that if none of the availabilities work for you, you can always email me as sometimes I am able to offer other possibilities).
This past weekend, I attended an online writing workshop with author Cheryl Strayed. You may know her from her books Torch, Tiny Beautiful Things, or her memoir Wild, the latter about her self-discovery journey hiking the Pacific Coast Trail.
Her teachings were exceptionally informative, deep, and moving, perfect for this weekend, with Pluto—the planet of unearthing of hidden treasures—stationing retrograde. Given that the swirl of this planet’s archetypes may still stream through the beginning of this week—and it makes a sweet connection with what-we-value Venus on Tuesday—I thought to share some of the insights she shared that felt steeped in deep Plutonian wisdom. As much as Cheryl’s insights were focused on writing, I feel that they have deep applications to life in general.
Being scared doesn’t necessarily preclude you from taking the action of which you’re afraid.
Vulnerability is a superpower.
The truth is an absolute defense.
Allow your readers to see behind the façade.
See the currents under the surface.
Be the illuminator, truth teller, excavator.
As well, as she said this—“I am not interested in who you are, I am interested in who you are really”—I was reminded of how when I am guiding clients through intense Pluto periods in which they are moving, I encourage them to weave in really when they reflect upon what they think, believe, feel, and know. That’s because really helps us to get to the heart of the matter and the core of the essence, which are Plutonian inspirations.
The theme of communication is also quite strong this week. On Monday, messenger Mercury makes a harmonious alliance with expansive Jupiter, encouraging us to widen our horizons when it comes to collecting information and sharing what we know. And then the following day, Mercury unites with Chiron, pointing us toward the healing power of words as well as the opportunity to release stories we have crafted that may limit our confidence in our inherent intelligence.
With Mercury charging through the end of Aries most of this week, don’t be surprised if thoughts and conversations are peppered with additional spark, speed, and fire. When it moves into Taurus on Saturday, we enter a two-plus week period in which we can further learn the beauty of practicality and ways that communication can connect us to a deeper experience of embodiment.

This Week’s Webinar: Self-Care for the Current Cosmic Shifts
Join me on Saturday, May 10, for the upcoming webinar I’m teaching for Astrology University.
This one—entitled Self-Care Suggestions for the Fire and Air Era—will begin by giving you an overview of the new collective landscape that’s emerging thanks to Saturn soon joining Neptune in Aries and Uranus about to dart into Gemini.
From there, I’ll be sharing self-care suggestion that can amplify your well-being during these coming years. We’ll focus on how to harness and align the concentrated fire energy (e.g., Aries) and air energy (e.g, Gemini as well as Aquarius, where Pluto resides) in benefit to both our individual and collective well-being.
We’ll talk about ways to enhance our nervous system, the metabolic fire known as agni in the Ayurvedic system, and much more. We’ll also survey flower essences, dreamwork rituals, movement practices, altar suggestions, and other strategies that can play a foundational role in your wellness repertory.
While the webinar will be live-streamed on May 10, if you can’t make it then, your registration gives you access to stream or download the webinar whenever you’d like.
