Jupiter enters Cancer, Saturn/Neptune in Aries Activation + the Sagittarius Full Moon
Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer us collectively. If you’re looking to access personalized insights to help you navigate the now, I’d love to do a Stellar Guidance Session with you. And if you’d like to further understand family patterns that may hold you back from freely being yourself, let’s do a Stellar Constellation Session. Click on the buttons below to schedule a session (and know that if none of the availabilities work for you, you can always email me as sometimes I am able to offer other possibilities).
(Please note that with the heightened astrological activity of this week, this post is longer than usual. I’ve placed topic subheadings to make it easier to move through.)
Jupiter enters Cancer
The tides shift this week.
Later in the day on Monday, Jupiter departs intellect-oriented Gemini for a year-long residence in watery Cancer. Given its expansive nature, Jupiter inspires growth and opportunity in the realms governed by the sign through which it’s traveling.
Ruled by the Moon, the sign of Cancer is connected to cyclicity, nurturance, a sense of roots, emotions and moods, the experience of cozy, nostalgia, family, and mother/ing, among other things.
Some collective movements we may see could include a greater focus on:
Homes and dwellings
Our feelings around the homeland and nation
Family, and what/who constitutes a family
Food and the ways we feed ourselves and others
How we offer protection, and to whom/what
The role of mother/hood, and how mothers are defined
What it means to feel rooted and to experience belonging
Ways to better take care of and honor our feelings
The seas and shorelines, and those who inhabit them
Last week, I shared how to understand an aspect of what the last year’s Jupiter in Gemini inspired for you based upon your chart. Saturn/Neptune Conjunction Activation
Yet, Jupiter in Cancer is not the only big news of the week.
As you may know, both Saturn and Neptune are now in Aries. And while their exact union doesn’t occur until next February, they are close enough to be considered to be acting/radiating in unison.
Saturn is connected to form, limits, time, and the mundane plane. Neptune is reflected in formlessness, limitlessness, timelessness, and the spiritual plane.
Finding a way to hold space for both—the material and the ephemeral, the contained and the diffused—can be a challenge and yet one that’s possible. By focusing upon it, I believe we can both honor the clarion call of this poignant astrological alignment and sidestep some of the stresses that it may otherwise catalyze.
There are several ways to do this. These include, but are not limited to, creating a vessel (Saturn) for the inspirational, artistic, compassionate and/or soulful (Neptune) and ensuring that your dreams, inspirations, and/or experiences of love (Neptune) have a solid foundation, enough time to manifest, and “pencils out” (Saturn).
This week, we may notice a strength to these Saturn/Neptune themes. With messenger Mercury squaring both of them on Monday, we may find ourselves with a greater level of understanding related to what they are encouraging, want to learn more about related subjects, and/or discover ourselves having conversations that explore them.
Also, Jupiter gets into its own Saturn/Neptune square dance, making an exact alignment with the former on Sunday and the latter next week. The Jupiter/Saturn Square may invoke a tension between freedom and restrictions, independence and the rule of law. (I can’t help but notice that this occurs the day after both the No King’s Day of Defiance—nationwide gatherings to reject authoritarianism and protect democracy—as well as the military parade held in D.C. in honor of the anniversary of the Army that happens to fall on President Trump’s birthday). Next week, on June 18, Jupiter will square Neptune. This alignment often brings with it the potential for expanded vision and optimism as well as idealization.
Sagittarius Full Moon
And if that wasn’t enough for one week, Wednesday brings illumination in the form of the Sagittarius Full Moon.
With this Full Moon featuring the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius, we may feel compelled with a need to know. We could find ourselves striving to collect facts and figures not only because of intellectual curiosity but also because we feel them to be vital ingredients that can provide us with the deeper sense of the understanding that we seek. This celestial event may have us reflecting upon our educational path, goals, beliefs, and spiritual pursuits.
Through this, we may also find ourselves questioning what knowing actually is. We could find ourselves with a better understanding of what it means to know something, to really know it. Or, our take-away may be that there is not one truth when it comes to defining knowing. Additionally, we may find that what “knowing’ means to us has shifted over time and we are no longer content with our previous relationship with it as we had been before. Given that this Full Moon squares the Lunar Nodes, it seems like what emerges may seem connected to a sense of personal and/or collective destiny.
Ok, I think I’m done :-) I have to laugh that the length and expansiveness of this week’s Stellar Insights feels aligned with all the Jupiter, Neptune, and Sagittarius energy. Hopefully Saturn’s honored here in terms of my trying to offer solid foundations—since I may not have honored its “less is more” orientation. :-)
All my best,
Stephanie
