Here are some insights about the opportunities and challenges that this week’s astrology may offer us collectively. If you’re looking to access personalized astrological and self-care insights to help you navigate the now, I’d love to do a Stellar Guidance Session with you.
The turning of the seasons arrives on Thursday, marking the moment when the Sun moves into the tropical sign of Cancer, and a month in which we’re focused upon home and family, roots and traditions. During this time, we may find ourselves more connected to gathering, tending, nurturing, and protecting, let alone feeling a greater sensitivity and instinctive pull to orient from our emotions. In the Northern Hemisphere, this moment is known as the Summer Solstice, and in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s referred to as the Winter Solstice.
The following day, a Full Moon illuminates the sky, and our hearts and minds. With this lunation featuring the Moon in Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer, it urges us to look at our life through the lens of the questions, What has me feel at home? and How can I dedicate myself to nourishing myself and others? and How can I further strike a balance between my personal and professional life? In pure Capricorn fashion, we may want to take these questions seriously, regarding them as those whose answers can provide us with the riches of insight to live a more integrated and productive life.
What’s also highlighted during this Full Moon is the importance of maintaining a balanced sense of perspective. Cancer inspires us to both feel as well as value our feelings. It has flowing, soft, and undulating energy. Capricorn, on the other hand, is not focused on feelings per se but rather on diligent and responsible approaches to accomplishing tangible outcomes. The question becomes how we can make space for both the nurturer (Cancer) and the achiever (Capricorn) within us.
Instead of just feeling infused by our emotions, the Capricorn Full Moon invites us to take a diligent look at them, inventorying what they may be revealing. Once insights are gleaned, see what practical ways you can take action to structure facets of your life so that they will further feed you.
Also, with this Full Moon, we are reminded that while the past is essential, it’s important not to get stuck in it. What came before may be an integral part of who you are but don’t let it pull you from the joys of the present. Be here now as Ram Dass is famous for saying. Recognize that what you may have inherited from your family, ancestors and/or culture is only an aspect of you, and while it may hold some value for helping you to build your own personal legacy, you are so much more than your past and from where you came.
Wishing you an illuminating week!
xxStephanie
