What a Week: Full Moon x Uranus, the Jupiter/Saturn Square + More...
Before I dive into this week’s reflections, I first wanted to thank both everyone who attended my free webinar this past week as well as those who expressed interest in listening to it in their own timing. In the webinar, I covered topics such as how to work with the lunar cycle, ways to make the most of Mercury Retrograde, how to navigate the planetary stations that occur during the rest of the year, a glimpse into my new offering, and more. If you hadn’t had the opportunity to sign up to receive the recording and the slide handouts, you still can. Just click on the button below, provide your email address, and I will be sure to send you access.
Given that there is so much astrology action happening on Monday, I am going to focus my writing on all that is unfolding on this day. That’s not only because it feels quite significant but also because it seems like it will thread our inspirations throughout the whole week (and beyond). As it’s a big long, I have written it with subheadings to make for easier reading.
The Full Moon
Super Blue Moon
While to me that this Full Moon is being referred to as a Super Moon and Blue Moon is not of the most import, owing to all of the media attention that this is receiving, I wanted to start with it. A Super Moon occurs when the Moon is at a closer distance than usual to the Earth and so appears even larger and brighter. The Blue Moon designation it has been given is related to the fact that in each season (i.e., summer, fall, winter, spring) there are usually three Full Moons. On the occasion that there are four, as there are currently, the third one—which is the one on Monday—is referred to as a Blue Moon.
Aquarius Full Moon
Monday’s Moon features the Sun in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius. During this yearly Aquarius Full Moon, issues involving individuals and their relationship to the collective often become the center of attention. There could be a heightened sense of tension as organizations strive to accommodate the needs of their members along with their own overarching identity and goals and/or have breakthroughs in the arena of group dynamics and team building. Tensions could arise if we find ourselves torn between wanting to align with and support a group mission and at the same time wanting to not abdicate the experience of gaining recognition for our personal brand of specialness.
The Uranus Connection
And yet, this year’s Aquarius Full Moon is not your garden-variety type. That’s because the Sun and Moon make an exact square to change-maker Uranus. And with that, the week feels like one in which we should be open to surprises, consider the power of the pivot, listen in for the call for independence, and see how drawing outside of the proverbial lines may instill an inventiveness that yields creative breakthroughs.
With Uranus connected to electricity and energy, you may have already tapped into a sense of whirring and buzzing that is weaving through the collective air. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we may find ourselves being infused with a sense of anticipation that may instill excitement or a subtle sense of anxiousness, or both. (During Uranian times, I always love having my Rescue Remedy on hand, as it can help dispel stress and bring in some calm.)
Instead of waiting for the unexpected, connect to the Uranian inspiration to break patterns and proactively shake things up. Opt for a non-rote route and change up a routine. Consider how taking a detour can yield new insights and awareness as it can bring you into contact with inputs with which you aren’t regularly in connection.
And, of course, with Uranus inspirations beaming strongly, be adaptive, adopt a stance of flexibility, and Stay Bouncy!
The Tie-In to the U.S. Chart
Another special feature of this Full Moon is that the position of the Moon (27 Aquarius) is the same as that of the U.S.’s Moon in its astrology chart. And with this what emerges today may connect deeply to the constitution and foundation of the nation. We may find that the calls for freedom and liberation have us view what we feel is at the inherent rooted nature of this country.
For a while now, I have been thinking about how this Uranus x Full Moon day on the U.S. Moon aligns with the first day of the Democratic National Convention. I definitely didn’t have on my proverbial bingo card (and likely most of us didn’t) that it would revolve around our current Democratic presidential nominee: that it would be the first time in this nation’s history that a candidate for the highest office would not only be a woman but a Black and South Asian woman. Kamala Harris is making history, and as a nation, the U.S. is making history and carving a new progressive path! ❤️
That said, for a while I had thought about the potential for chaos and rebellion and how that could be how the Uranian energetic manifests. I am hoping that while there will be a wide tent for hearing the views of coalitions far and wide, that there are stages for people to express their viewpoints and First Amendment rights, and for them to have audience and impact, that what occurs doesn’t evolve into the violence it did the last time the convention was in Chicago in 1968. Fingers crossed, and prayers sent.
There is definitely the potential for tension during this moment, not only via the Full Moon but the next big alignment as I will share now. Let’s just hope that any pressure and discord will resolve in a solidity of structure that brings progress, freedom, and a compassionate re-orienting on a humanitarian level.
Jupiter/Saturn Square
As if that this pivotal Full Moon wasn’t enough astro action for one day, also on Monday we have a connect between Jupiter and Saturn. What’s the inspiration when Jupiter—the planet that captains Team More—squares Saturn—the planet that champions Team Less? We find ourselves balancing a tightrope between liberalism and conservatism, between wanting to expand beyond limits to wanting to uphold stringent ones, between encouraging freedom of expression and creating guardrails to safeguard against what those who hold authority perceive to be out-of-bounds behaviors.
Here are some things I’ve been reflecting upon related to this Jupiter/Saturn Square dance. Consider these principles in terms of how they can guide you individually as well as as you view things on the collective stage.
How freedom can be experienced via the architecting of blueprints that embody accountability and integrity
How exuberance tempered with caution can potentially yield more realistic optimism
How thoughtfully and precisely approaching growth can yield an outcome that is more sustainable
How dynamic is the interplay of expansion and contraction in living systems
Now, as it turns out, on Monday we also have love planet Venus tying directly into the Jupiter/Saturn Square, itself making a square alignment with Jupiter and an opposition to Saturn.
And with that, we may find ourselves drawn to the power of the feminine, be in consideration of how we define richness, and come face to face with what it is that we value as well as the ways that we value—or don't value—ourselves. All of the Jupiter/Saturn themes that I noted above may find an extra range of expression through themes such as relationships, finances, beauty, pleasure, and what we find has worth as well as the way we view women and feminine principles.
Summary
In conclusion, this week may inspire many significant shifts and movements. For each of us personally, it feels like one of the invitations is to see how we can step out of our comfort zone as a way of more deeply, truly, and powerfully knowing, illuminating, and sharing the unique being we are. Additionally, by knowing when to put our foot on the proverbial accelerator and the proverbial brake, we can gain insights on how to further broaden our horizons and inspire growth that is integral and sustainable.
As the Moon will be bright in the sky this week, may we all be bright in our awareness, clarity, and empathic understanding.
Have a wonderful week!
xxStephanie
